Ali Mahmoud Chamsedine
Ali Mahmoud Chamsedine is a Lebanese visual artist, illustrator, and designer. His practice spans painting, children’s books, and visual publishing.
He has exhibited in Lebanon, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, with recent solo exhibitions including Nowhere and the Lost Time at Dar Al-Mussawir in Beirut (2023) and Light in the Shadows of Ruin at Art District Gallery in Beirut (2025).
Chamsedine has illustrated children’s books for Dar Asalah and Dar Al-Hadaek. His book The Newborn received an award for picture books in 1994, and he received the Sharjah International Book Award for his illustration and design of My Friends Who Love Me Very Much in 1996. He later held art direction roles at Al-Kifah Al-Arabi in Lebanon and Al-Jazirah in Saudi Arabia, and directed Beirut’s Fekrah Foundation for Design and Publishing from 2012 to 2016.
